Are teachers absolutely necessary?

by Darren on Jun.29, 2007, under internet, links, pedagogy, resource development

This is a question that is asked quite often in this time of  growing connectivity and excellent resource development. However we would normally say that the teacher is an incredibly important part of the process, a guide on the journey of learning.

Over the last few weeks a young man called William Kamkwamba in Malawi has come to the attention of the blogosphere for his ingenuity in providing power for his family, all because he read about some basic scientific principles in an old primary school book.

His story is inspirational and makes you wonder about our absolute necessity?

How did word get out abut William, well someone sponsored him to attend this years TED, which was a great adventure.

Read Williams story and consider your impact?
